Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Our Lucy watched with concern as her person became more ill with each
passing day. Lucy tried to comfort her, sitting with her on the arm of their favorite chair, hoping things would get better. Lucy and her mom loved each other dearly, but the time finally came when Lucy's mom could no longer stay in her home. Tearfully, she called HUA asking if we could help find a home for Lucy where she would be loved just as much as her mom loved her, and we promised to do our very best.

Lucy gets along well with other dogs, and adores people. She walks very nicely on her leash, but would really love a yard where she could explore to her heart's content. Her people manners are excellent and after the initial excitement of meeting new friends, she is very gentle. She has been housetrained, and with a quick refresher course, she should easily remember those skills. She would love to be in a home of her own again and promises to be a very good girl, which we already know she is!
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddy, Peggy Ickes, from Los Alamos, Texas, sent her this message: "Lucy is such a sweet little girl, she loves to sit on your lap, but also loves to play with you or with other dogs. She is very smart, and easily trained, wanting just to please. We wished we could take her home, but our home is full now with other elderly dogs. We know she will go to a good permanent home soon- you just need to meet her to fall in love with her!" Lucy sends Peggy many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
