Now living happily in Nebraska.
Luke's story is a horrifying one, made worse because his condition was caused by people who were supposed to love him. He was severely neglected in his home, and by the time he made his way to HUA he was a total mess. His fur was so clumped and matted that he had to be completely shaved down. During the grooming process, we discovered a FISH HOOK stuck in his hair, so deeply embedded that it was not even noticeable. Luke has only three legs. Our vet thinks that the missing leg must have gotten caught in a trap or was caused by some terrible accident, as it does not appear to be a clean amputation by a surgeon. Despite all of this, our Luke is a kind, laid back, funny, mellow boy. He likes everyone and is so grateful to be safe, warm, fed and loved. He suffers no ill effects from the missing leg and romps around with the best of them. We want him to know only joy and comfort with his forever family. This is a guy who deserves to be carefree and happy with never another worry as long as he lives.
