Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Iowa City, Iowa.

Madelyn was found as a stray and brought to our vet's office by the kind person that found her. Our vet, being a very insightful and intelligent, not to mention instinctive, person immediately called the shelter with the news that we were about to receive a SWEETIE. As usual, he was correct. Madelyn is all sugar, no spice. She is truly a wonderful dog. She loves ALL of the other animals at the shelter and will very politely, very serenely, herd them into line if the need arises. She is a bit of a chatterbox and has many good things to tell us. She does not shout, nor does she BARK LOUDLY like perhaps some of the other folks on the ranch. She simply states the facts gently and leaves us to come to our own conclusions. Because Madelyn is a bit obvious, her conversations are normally well understood: I want to go for a walk and I am fabulous on a leash, May I have a cookie please,? You look nice today, Any new toys come in the mail,? Please put my pictures on the website immediately. We like to talk with our Maddie - she is purely pleasant and easy on the eyes to boot.

Her Buddy, Priscilla Garfield, from Pagosa Springs, Colorado, sent her this message: "You are a beauty Miss Maddie and someone will adopt you very soon. You will get the best home a dog could wish for, I know it!" Madelyn sends Priscilla many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
