Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

One day we received a call from some caring people telling us that a black dog was found at a house they were moving into. They had not gotten close enough to the dog to know much more than that about it. When we arrived at the house, there was no dog in sight, but soon we saw Melody jumping around in some tall weeds. We had brought some delicious treats with us thinking that we might have a problem catching the dog, but that proved unnecessary. Melody was so happy to see us that she jumped into our arms and happily went to the van. At the shelter, she has the title of being the fastest running, most tireless dog. She loves the new fenced acreage where she can run to her heart’s content. She is perfectly congenial and wants nothing more than to have her own people to love and a large yard to run in.

Her Buddy, Julianne Collins, from Omaha, NE, sent her this message: "Melody, I love those beautiful and inquisitive brown eyes, and that darling head tilt that looks like you can't wait to learn all about your new surroundings! You'll be a great companion and Activities Director in your new home! Have fun with your friends at HUA until your forever family finds you. Juli" Melody sends Juli MANY grateful kisses and very happy hugs!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
