Nettie

be my buddy
Poodle
Born: 05/05/2007
Tiny
6 lbs
Female

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Omaha, Nebraska.

Darling Nettie Poodle and her sister, Petra, were destined to live horrific lives, trapped in tiny cages on filthy wires while being bred as often as possible until their tiny bodies gave out. But Fate intervened and the puppy mill they were born into could not generate enough income to stay in business and was forced to go to auction. Petra and Nettie were NOT, thank goodness, sold to another miller that would have continued the chain of abuse. Instead they were rescued by people who knew that HUA would take them in and enfold them into an environment the likes of which they may never have known. The girls now know warmth, health, comfort and most importantly, love.

Nettie is the tiniest little thing with nothing more than the need to please. She is as smart as any poodle can be, loves to play and explore and learn new things. She was cooped up for so long with nothing to do but worry, and she is just elated to be free. She knows what we are saying to her and she understands just how good she has it. A visitor to the shelter met her recently and stopped in his tracks to watch her antics. After a bit he remarked, "That Nettie is really just one perfectly neat little dog." We couldn't have said it better ourselves.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her buddy, Robert Bertz from Connecticut sent her this message: "You are such a darling girl, little Nettie! Our cavalier king charles is a mill survivor, too, and seeing her gradually heal has been so gratifying. I know you'll continue to heal, too, and find a great home soon!" Nettie sends Robert and his cavalier lots of happy kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
