Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

On April 15th, 2013, Hearts United for Animals rescued 19 dogs from miserable conditions where they had lived for years in a Lancaster County, Nebraska puppy mill. Most of them were underweight, and all have medical issues due to severe neglect. All of the dogs were so happy to be rescued. They delighted in the comfort given to them by their rescuers. They enjoyed their clean new spaces and wonderful soft food. They lapped up their fresh, clean, abundant drinking water – something they had been lacking.

Rescuers decided that these dogs are definitely rock stars! They came through their ordeal with such happy, positive attitudes, looking forward to their much improved new lives. They survived, they endured, and they will become loved family members.

We do not think that Paula's estimated age is correct. Although she came in anemic with urinary tract problems, she lost only 4 teeth at her dental. Her medical issues were addressed with medication and Paula is feeling her best. She is so full of life and love that we can barely stand it. She is the funniest of all tiny girls, always out to do something and find some mischief. She talks to us all day long, voicing her Maltese opinions as if she's been running the place for years. We find not a mild thing about this one and comment often that she's a real swinger. Paula is out to have a good time and please step aside if you're a fuddy dud.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddies, Jesus and Serita Gamez, from Lawrence, NE, sent her this message: "In honor of the wonderful news that Daisy, our previous buddy, got adopted we would like to buddy Paula Abdul. She looks like a darling girl!" Paula sends Jesus, Serita and their furbabies many enthusiastic hugs, very happy tail wags and oodles of grateful kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
