Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Fargo, North Dakota.

Ranger's first several years were spent in horrifying misery. He was the victim of an animal hoarder and lived a life of terror. He was tied to a bed and had only enough rope to fit himself between the wall and the post, desperately trying to keep away from the bigger dogs who wanted to hurt him. Those dogs probably were so bored, so abused, so hungry and so neglected that they were resorting to violence as a way to alleviate their pain. Poor Ranger was their target, and he spent every hour of every day trying to save his own life. He was so grateful to be rescued that he wept with the relief of it all. He is a sensitive boy with such a sweet spirit that we can't bear the thought of him ever being anything but happy and content. He has learned to play with toys and is good friends with the other small dogs in his area. But every once in a while, we can sense that Ranger would like to just be held and rocked and sit quietly with a person and we are very happy to oblige. He is a wonderful, darling old soul who has so much love to offer to his people and we are thrilled at the prospect of finding his forever family for him.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Robyn Broghammer, from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "Hi Ranger - you're half way there! The worst of it is over. You're at a wonderful place surrounded by people who want to love and care for you. Soon you will find your new owners that will love you and take care of you the way you deserve. Until then, you have me! XOXO" Ranger is very happy that he has Robyn and sends her many grateful hugs and happy kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
