be my buddy
Cocker Spaniel
Born: 05/12/2002
22 lbs

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rizzo was rescued from a Missouri puppy mill. For seven years she gave birth to litter after litter of puppies while her life was being literally stolen from her. She developed mammary cancer from all of the overbreeding. The vet for HUA reports that the margins of the tumor removal were not clean. We don't know how much longer Rizzo will have, and it is unlikely she will find a home willing to take in a dog they know will probably not survive the cancer. Rizzo is a very sweet loving girl. The staff at HUA call her their baby doll. She is learning to trust and love her daily caregivers. While it is unlikely Rizzo will ever leave the shelter the good news is that she knows love for the first time in her life and she is enjoying the freedom and comforts provided to her at HUA. Rizzo is a female Cocker Spaniel. She was born 5/12/00 and weighs 22 pounds.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddy, Heather Reese, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Hey beautiful! I know you'll be in a forever home in no time. Boo (PupPup) sends lots of kisses in the meantime." Rizzo sends Heather and PupPup/Boo girl many happy, grateful kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
