Dachshund
Born: 09/01/2007
Small
8 lbs
Male

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Vivian, South Dakota.

Roscoe is a big, brave dog trapped in a little, hot dog body. He was born in a disgusting, filthy puppy mill in Missouri. Due to horrible breeding conditions, Roscoe was born with bilateral microthalmia. Also known as "micro eyes," this is a genetic condition that prevents the eyes from ever fully developing. Therefore, little Roscoe is somewhat vision impaired. His condition doesn't stop him from doing all the wonderful, normal doggy things his friends do. He loves to explore outside and is just as playful as anyone else in the place. He darts after toys, not afraid to try to sneak them away from the bigger dogs when he sees one he likes. Roscoe loves people - he knows he gets the best of care and is grateful for it. This is one of those dogs that we will so happily send off with his new family, knowing that he will provide great joy and warm laps to the humans lucky enough to have him.
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddy, Melissa Barretta, from North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, sent him this message: "You are just too cute Roscoe!!! Hugs and kisses from Melissa, Rusty, and Daphne! We hope you find a loving home real soon!" Roscoe sends Melissa, Rusty and Daphne many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
His Buddy, Debra Kidwell, from Pataskala, Ohio, sent him this message: "Roscoe you are perfection. Your coat is gorgeous. HUA will find you the perfect home; people who will love you and provide great things. Good Luck from Debra and her weenies (Fred, Mertle & Bodie)." Roscoe sends Debra, Fred, Mertle and Bodie many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
