Dachshund
Born: 04/24/2011
Small
7.5 lbs
Male

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Tampa Bay, Florida.

Rudy almost died after he was attacked by a Malamute. No telling what brought on the incident, but Rudy is way too small for a large mouth to bite. His family brought him in to the Animal Emergency Clinic saying that they hadn’t had him for long and weren’t attached to him, so he should be euthanized. Rudy needed some intensive care, but it was quite obvious that he would recover and be in fine shape again. HUA was called to take over his guardianship. It is doubtful that Rudy even remembers the awful thing he went through because he is a carefree little fellow at the shelter and has a good time with all his playmates.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Lynette Arnold, from Omaha, NE, sent him this message: "Little Rudy, you are a darling little guy with a wonderful future ahead of you! Enjoy all the attention and play time while you're at HUA, and in no time at all, a family will find you who will cherish you forever! Milton and I are sending you our love until then!" Rudy sends Lynette and HUA alum Milton many grateful hugs, tail wags and very happy kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
