Shanie was rescued from a puppy mill in Grand Island, Nebraska. She was shy and withdrawn at first and had no idea what to expect from people. Her true Labrador personality has emerged and now she is a load of fun! She loves running around her big play yard and entertaining her caretakers with silly antics that include dances, army crawls and big goofy smiles. Shanie is a female Labrador Retriever. She was born 5/13/05 and weighs 46 pounds.

Her Buddy, Amy Meinzer, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Dear Shanie, you are so sweet and fun. I hope you find a wonderful home soon where you can entertain people with your goofy antics all day. Love, Amy" Shanie sends Amy many happy, grateful kisses and hugs.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
