Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Arvada, Colorado.

Talulah's spirit is broken. Her health is bad. She has trust issues and is afraid of almost everything. She has been neglected so severely that she may never fully recover. This description may very well prevent her from ever being adopted, but it is the plain and simple truth. She came to HUA out of a hoarding situation so severe that every dog that was rescued had some sort of physical ailment or mental instability. Talulah had heartworms upon arrival, and even after the painful, grueling treatment, she continues to test positive for the disease. She is in congestive heart failure. But yet, Talulah has found something she can love. On nice days, she sits for hours in the grass, with her precious face turned upward toward the sky, soaking in every bit of the warm, healing sunshine. In these moments, she is so comfortable that she will allow herself to revel in our loving, gentle pats on the back and the sweet words we all want so badly for her to hear. If you believe that it is your destiny to make a difference in this world, to make an innocent creature believe that life can be kind, to spread the word and share the proof that puppy mills destroy lives, then here is your chance.
Buddy Messages (3)
Her Buddy, Micki Noah, from Omaha, Nebraska, sent her this message: "Talulah, you are such a sweet, precious little being! I hope you have many more days of enjoying the sun and receiving the affection and consideration you so deserve." Talulah sends Micki many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Dave Farquhar, from Overland Park, Kansas, sent her this message: "Dear Taluluah~Please forgive the "humans" that you have encountered! There are many loving people on your side! We will be your buddy & will send you soft blankets & toys! Love You!" Talulah sends Dave, Missy and Mister many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.
Her Buddy, Season Hubley, from Essex Junction, Vermont, sent her this message: "Precious Talulah-when I saw your name and picture again today and read your story, I must admit I broke down in tears. You see, I have a little girl named Thumbelina who's story is almost exactly like yours. Even though she has been out of that puppy mill and in her Forever home for 3 ½ years now and has a bossy but loving sister named Hazel to teach her everything a beloved dog should know, she still is and always will be like shattered glass. Some babies are just born more sensitive than others and the trust that has been stripped away and out of you can never truly be recovered. I would love nothing more than to be able, little girl, to restore even the tiniest bit of that trust but I would not be able to give you everything you need and deserve at this time. I am so grateful that you are safe in the loving Hearts United for Animals and that you are finally able to find the comfort of the sun on your beautiful face. We all send our deeply heart-felt love. Season, Thumbelina & Hazel" Talulah sends Season, Thumbelina and Hazel many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
