Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Wantaugh, New York.

Towser came from a puppy mill in Missouri where the lack of care was startling. Poor Towser lost 19 teeth at his first vet visit. His age is an educated guess. He could be younger. It is hard to tell when a young looking dog loses so many teeth. He doesn't appear old at all, but 19 is alot of teeth! Towser is taking it all in stride though and is especially enjoying his soft, nutritious food with whole peas and carrots in it. He is a sweet fellow who is still a little shy, but is curious and learning what all fun he can have with his new found freedom. He likes to play with his dog friends. Towser is a gorgeous boy who we hope has the chance to know life in a home with people who will give him the love and understanding he needs to become an amazing lifelong friend.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Carolyn Starner, from Hawley, Pennsylvania, sent him this message: "Hi Towser, I am an 11-year-old b/t mini dachshund...I have only eight teeth, but I don't let that stop me from lovin' my life. I am also a rescue! Keep the will find your forever home soon! (Mom would take you, but we can only have three dogs where we live) Love, hugs, and kisses, Oscar Mayer Starner" Towser sends Oscar Mayer and Carolyn many happy, grateful Dachshund kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
