Willy Wonka

be my buddy
Yorkshire Terrier
Born: 07/25/2000
3 lbs

Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Get your tissues ready, because Willy Wonka will break your heart into a million pieces. Not because he has been tortured for his entire life (he has), not because his lower jaw has completely disintegrated due to massive infection (it has), but because he is so completely adorable it will bring you to tears. Willy was in one of the worst puppy mills in the country for 10 years. When he was finally rescued, he shivered violently and we assumed he was paralyzed by fear. It didn't take too long for us to figure out that, no - he was not afraid. The tiny poot was cold. After all, he is the size of a walnut. We got Willy a handsome blue sweater and a super puffy, super warm bed. He has been the cat's meow ever since. Willy Wonka loves to explore, but never goes far from us. He is so enamored of people and would love to spend 24 hours a day huddled up in a comfy lap. He is very, VERY friendly and acts not at all like an old man. We gently and kindly advised Willy that he may not get adopted because of his age. He snuffed at us and said YOU JUST WATCH. Typical Willy optimism.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
