Homeward bound-adopted!

This precious little man was recently rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. He spent EIGHT YEARS in a wire cage. He was fed disgusting, cheap food. He was never given a blanket or a toy or love. Due to the lack of vet care, he lost every single tooth in his tiny, infected mouth. But despite it all, Ira is a happy, friendly, cuddly little guy who loves everyone. He is grateful for every moment of his new life. He adores his recess time in the sunporch with the staff and volunteers and other dogs. He has fun adventures in the big yard, exploring and sniffing and learning all about freedom. It is time for Ira to experience home living. We want nothing more for this special guy than a family to call his own, who can continue to show him how worthy he is of love and comfort and some big time spoiling.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddy, Rachel Pfeifer from Elkhorn, NE, sent him this message: "You look like such a sweet little man, Ira, and I hope you find a great family who will adore you as much as you deserve really soon!" Ira sends Rachel lots of happy kisses and tail wags!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
