be my buddy
Maltese
Born: 09/19/2009
Small
9 lbs
Male

Sweet little Jigs was born in a puppy mill, where he spent his entire life standing, sleeping and eating on wires until he was finally rescued and given his freedom. You've never seen a dog so confused by his circumstances. Poor Jigs was bewildered as to this whole new world and it took him a little time to get used to being free. He was afraid of people and did not want to be touched for fear of being hurt. After some quality time spent with both HUA staff and dedicated volunteers, Jigs finally decided that he was safe and has learned to really enjoy our company. While we still at times must encourage him to approach, he is relaxed and happy once he is close. Jigs will thrive in a home with people who will be able to provide him with one-on-one attention and continue to assure him that his horrifying days at the mill are way behind him.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddies, Dweezel Dachshund and Carolyne, from Edmonds, WA, sent him this message: "Hi Jigs, My name is Dweezel Dachshund. I am 15 years old and my mom, Carolyne Joseph and I would love to be your buddy until you find your forever home. Hugs and kisses from my mom and licks from me." Jigs sends Dweezel many grateful licks in return, and lots of happy hugs and kisses to Carolyne!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
