Papillon
Born: 04/16/2004
Tiny

Female

On April 15th, 2013, Hearts United for Animals rescued 19 dogs from miserable conditions where they had lived for years in a Lancaster County, Nebraska puppy mill. Most of them were underweight, and all have medical issues due to severe neglect. All of the dogs were so happy to be rescued. They delighted in the comfort given to them by their rescuers. They enjoyed their clean new spaces and wonderful soft food. They lapped up their fresh, clean, abundant drinking water – something they had been lacking.

Rescuers decided that these dogs are definitely rock stars! They came through their ordeal with such happy, positive attitudes, looking forward to their much improved new lives. They survived, they endured, and they will become loved family members.

Melissa Ethridge was anemic when she arrived at HUA and doesn't have a single tooth left in her mouth. This sweet angel could not care less about all of that. All she cares about is being cuddled and cherished and kissed and hugged by every single person she meets. She is the sweetest of all creatures, begging to be loved and returning that love in the biggest way possible. Melissa asks for nothing. She does not need spoiling or toys or even tasty treats, as long as she has the devotion of humans and a soft, warm place to rest her pretty head.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddies, Allison and Andy Frederick, from Lincoln, NE, sent her this message: "Melissa, we met you and fell instantly in love! You are so sweet and cuddly, and your happy smile brings joy to everyone around you! We know you have a wonderful future ahead of you!" Melissa sends Andy and Allison lots and lots of happy hugs, cuddles and kisses!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
