Pekingese
Born: 10/10/2007
Small
11 lbs
Male

We are quite certain we've never had a resident that could be confused with a one-eyed teddy bear, but here he is. Niles came out of a Nebraska puppy mill so we do not know if he was born without an eye or if it was damaged in some way, but we think his little wink is delicious. He really is the cutest little guy and despite his horrendous beginnings, he's a nice guy, too. Niles is an observer and an independent thinker. He hangs out on the outskirts to watch the other dogs act ridiculous. He is certainly up for some hugs and kisses from the humans, but he makes no demands upon us. He is a laid-back fellow who causes no trouble at all and would make a wonderful couch potato for a family in need of one.
Buddy Messages (1)
His Buddies, Sarah and Brad Goetsch, from Cedar Bluffs, NE, sent him this message: "What an adorable face! I know you will bring lots of love and joy to your fur-ever home! So glad you are safe and loved at HUA now!" Niles sends Sarah and Brad many little cuddles and grateful kisses of joy!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
