Homeward bound-adopted!

Now living happily in Auburn, Nebraska.

Puffin was rescued from a nasty, wretched puppy mill in Missouri. She was terrified when she arrived. She was sick and skinny and her mouth was inflamed with infection. We had to handle this tiny girl with kid gloves. She lost 25 teeth during her vet visit, and endured some very intensive grooming to get her clean and smelling lovely. Puffin is still a little bit shy, but she is the sweetest thing. We thought she was avoiding being touched by people as she backs up as if to make an escape. We finally realized she was backing up to GET to people, and wanted us to pick her up for a cuddle. She is one smart pup. Puffin joins in with the group running to the sunporch for socialization, and stands back politely waiting for her treats and attention. She is very grateful for all that she receives. We are so proud of her and all that she has overcome.
Buddy Messages (2)
Her Buddy, Patti Stephens from Dallas, Texas, sent her this message: "I just saw you in November, Puffin, and you are adorable! You weren't too sure about me, and I deserved a good barking from your sun room. I brought Mortimer and mighty Whitey home with me, and if Dallas would allow me one more dog, I would have scooped you up in a second. I am sure you'll find your own great home soon. Mort, Whitey, Trilby and Elita send big hugs your way." Puffin sends Patti and her canine crew one more bark with lots of happy kisses and tail wags of thanks!
Her Buddy, Virginia Kass, from Mankato, Minnesota, sent her this message: "Little puffin I'm sending you lots of love & wishing a forever home for you in the near future." Puffin sends Virginia many happy, grateful hugs and kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
