be my buddy

Rosie lost her home when her person was unable to keep her. When she came in, she assessed our cat room, and with the crisp efficiency of a feline professional recognizing a job to be done, Rosie promptly took on the role of Greeter and Tour Guide.

No longer do visitors come in and simply amble about. Rosie greets them with a purr, then leads them through the cat room landmarks--the suspended walkways high above visitors' heads, the boxes of toys, the spiral staircase on which a cat can be nose-to-nose with a human of any height within moments, more toys, the highly-desirable neighborhood of climbing trees and scratching posts, another box of toys, introductions to the other cats. Oh, and did she mention the boxes of toys? We've mentioned to Rosie that her little clipboarded checklist has toys listed more than once, but Miss Rosie simply looked at us solemnly and advised us that one simply cannot overstate the importance of toys.

Rosie tells us she's looking to pursue her career dream of being the greeter, tour guide, and all-around lovable resident of a home with a family. She asks in return for room and board—she’s willing to share your bed if you like!—and lots of love along with a box or five of toys so she can spend her off-hours playing and cuddling.

Her Buddy, Leanne Jones, from Omaha, NE, sent her this message: "Rosie, you are a beautiful girl, and I'm glad that the cat room has you to keep things organized! I hope you find your own wonderful home soon!" Rosie sends Leanne lots of playful tail curls and many joyful purrs!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
