be my buddy
Chihuahua Mix
Born: 08/06/2010
Small
9 lbs
Female

Somerset was abandoned by a lake about 50 miles from the shelter. She was fearful at first after that awful experience, but very soon became everyone's best friend. Shortly after arriving she gave birth to five puppies (SURPRISE!!) and was an adorably attentive young mother. Somerset loves to show off her acrobat skills, such as climbing gates to get to where the people are. She loves attention to the point where she will let us dress her up in any silly outfit we want, as long as we tell her how good and pretty she is. She is a fun and funny little dog who will provide a lifetime of love and giggles.
Buddy Messages (1)
Her Buddy, Stacy Burbach, from Lincoln, NE, sent her this message: "Somerset, You are a beautiful girl and I cannot believe how friendly and sweet you are! I'm so glad I got to spend time with you on Saturday and I loved when you curled up in my lap and took a nap even with everything going on. You deserve to be the center of attention in a loving family, and I hope you are adopted really soon! Molly and I send you much love!" Somerset sends HUA alum, Molly, lots of happy puppy kisses, and sends Stacy more happy cuddles and can't wait to see her again for a volunteer day!

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
