Echo

This beautiful girl is very special to the humans at the shelter who are honored to care for her. At only one year old, Echo has been through more than any puppy should. When she was born, the breeder suspected that she was blind. After a definitive diagnosis, Echo was turned over to HUA since she was not a candidate for breeding. This sweet angel did not experience the socialization or training that a blind puppy desperately needs, and she was incredibly scared. It was difficult to get her to move from one spot. Cowering in a corner is what Echo felt she must do, and it was heartbreaking to see. After several months here at the shelter, Echo is a new dog. She has become more confident and now she cannot wait to run and bounce in the yards. She loves playing with the other dogs, and her special friend Houston is happy to teach her to play. Sweet whispers of encouragement and love to Echo earn us adorable head tilts and wag swishing. She is amazing. Echo's eye issues are caused by retinal detachment. She does not need medication at this time but her family will need to keep her monitored for any signs of secondary glaucoma. She would love to be in a home with another dog to show her the ropes and help with continuing to gain confidence.
