Bonnet was part of an emergency rescue from a puppy mill in Missouri. We were given just hours to rush to the site or else the miller was going to start shooting the helpless animals for taking up space and not breeding well anymore. Bonnet was very, very sick and was taken to the ER immediately. She had a severe uterine infection and a hernia that had burst her intestines, spreading infection everywhere. It was a close call, and no doubt Bonnet would have died a terrible death had she not escaped the puppy mill. Her mouth was also incredibly infected, but after months of recuperation Bonnet is now not only healthy, but oh so happy. She is a real party animal, hamming it up for the cameras and refuses to stop wiggling and prancing. She is playful and charming and loved by all. She gets all along well with all the other little dogs, and loves this new life with all her being.
