Chihuahua | Born: May 05, 1998 | Weight: 12 lbs. | Gender: Female

Josefina was rescued from a horrible puppy mill in Nebraska. She had two huge hernias and lost two teeth, but didn't come in with many to begin with. One of the hernia repairs ruptured and had to be repaired again. She was given away by the mill because her last litter of puppies died so she was no longer useful. Josefina is such a dear, wonderful girl. She is having a great time exploring all of her new space and meeting new friends. She is polite, enjoys attention and flitters from one person to the next just estatic that people are being nice to her. She likes car rides very much. She rode on the front seat on the way home from her second hernia repair and was completely enamoured with everything...the sights, the smells, the air coming out of the vents in the car. Josefina is a female Chihuahua, born 05/05/98. She weighs a robust 12.4 pounds.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
