Dachshund | Born: Jan 01, 1998 | Weight: 13 lbs. | Gender: Male
Homeward bound-adopted!
Now living happily in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Abbott was rescued from a commercial breeding facility in Nebraska. He is a lovely boy with a super fun personality. He is just a pure joy. Abbott was used to breed puppies for pet stores for 10 years. He never knew freedom until he arrived at HUA. Now he is a big ham. He loves people. He loves hugs, he loves sitting in laps, he loves playing. He is having such a great time being free. Abbott's teeth were completely rotten and he had a testicular tumor that we are hoping has not spread. Abbott is enjoying his new life so much that we would be devastated if it were cut short. Abbott is a male dachshund. He was born in 1998 and weighs 12.5 pounds.
His Buddy, Karen Blaha, from Swansea, Illinois, sent him this message: "I am sorry people have treated you so terribly in your life. I hope me being your buddy will help with your medical care until you get a great loving home." Abbott sends Karen many happy, grateful dachshund boy kisses.
His Buddy, Harriet Guberman, from San Rafael California, sent him this message: "Hello sweet boy. My low-to-the ground dog, Thomas, sends his love too!" Abbott sends Harriet and Thomas many happy, grateful Dachshund boy kisses and hugs.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
