Husky Mix | Born: Jan 01, 2004 | Weight: 57 lbs. | Gender: Female
Atira came from a very bad home where she was tied outside and left with her friend Ritter. The family literally MOVED and left the dogs TIED outside with no regard for what would happen to them! They had no food, no water, no shelter. Thank goodness the sheriff was alerted and called HUA to come rescue them. Atira is a darling girl, just so grateful to be rescued, loved and well cared for. Her current conditions at HUA are surely the best she's ever known. Atira is a female Husky mix. She was born in 2004 and weighs 57 pounds.
Her Buddies, the Morehouse kids and their mom April from Harrington, Delaware are great supporters of the animals. April sent this message: "Hello, my children were on your site and wanted to be buddies to Atira after reading her sad story. They also wanted me to thank you for all you do in saving animals. They will turn 1/3 of their allowance over to the 'bank' and my husband will write them a check to send. They came to me and wanted to donate some of their allowance to help needy animals, and the first place I thought of was your beautiful ranch and all that you do. You are truly angels and in my dream life I would do exactly as you do. Thank you for your time. God Bless!!! April" Atira and everyone and every dog at HUA thanks April and her beautiful children for their caring thoughts and support. Atira sends big happy kisses to them all.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
