Buckwheat came from a family who could no longer care for him. He loves his caretakers at HUA. He is overjoyed to see them, doing happy dances, jumps and twirls in the air. He gives kisses, plays and loves to snuggle. His caretakers say he acts like royalty, just knowing that all good things in life are meant for him. He is a bit fearful of new people, but once he decides they are ok he is all fun and games! Buckwheat is a male Chihuahua. He was born 04/23/06 and weighs 5.5 pounds.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
