Havanese | Born: Oct 30, 1998 | Weight: 9 lbs. | Gender: Female
Poor Gisa was a wreck when she arrived from a Nebraska puppy mill. We can only imagine the pain she endured. She lost 8 teeth and was found to have a periodontal pocket over 5mm deep which has left her lower right jaw permanently unstable. She also had significant hair loss from poor nutrition and lack of care. In spite of the fact that she lived in misery for 11 years with no vet care she is amazingly outgoing, friendly and happy. She is loving life at HUA. She likes playing in the yard and spending time with her dog friends and she loves to be loved by the staff and volunteers. She is a little treasure. Our hearts break over the miserable years she spent captive in the mill. Gisa is a female Havanese. She was born 10/30/98 and weighs 8.8 pounds.
Her Buddy, Tina Pasciak, from Hagerstown, Maryland, sent her this message: "Gisa just touches my heart, enjoy life girl, you deserve it!" Gisa sends Tina many happy, grateful kisses and hugs.
Her Buddy, Maju Sharma, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, sent her this message: "Gisa, you are such a sweet girl, I want to be your Buddy." Gisa sends Manju many happy, grateful kisses.

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
