Alfalfa

be my buddy
Boston Terrier
Born: 02/01/2007
Tiny
0 lbs
Male

Alfalfa was rescued from a horrific breeding situation in Iowa. Although he is just a puppy he is not yet happy go lucky. He has not known the kindness of humans. He has fought every day of his life just to exist. We are showing Alfalfa all the love and affection he never had and know that he will come around and learn how wonderful it is to be cared for and adored.

UPDATE: Progress with Alfalfa is slow. He must have been severely terrorized. He enjoys the company of the other dogs, but is still fearful of humans. It is so sad to see such fear in such a young boy. Our wish is for Alfalfa to find a quiet, loving, patient home who will bring him along so that his heart may know true peace and happiness.

Alfalfa is a male Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix born in February of 2007.
Buddy Messages (2)
His Buddy, Dorothy Wilson, from Morrill, Maine, sent him this message: "My, what a cutie-pie! My 9-year-old squealed at the sight of you and wanted to bring you home, but being your buddy is the next best thing! I hope you find a home right away, Alfalfa!" Alfalso sends Dorothy and her family many grateful puppy kisses.
His Buddy, Michi Herbers, from Pasadena, California, sent him this message: "Dear Alfalfa, we have your brother Spanky out here in California. We want everyone to know when they come to see you that Spanky was just like you, scared, at the beginning. It took him a little while but he is so happy and loving and he brings us great joy. We wish that we could have you come here too but we can't. We are hoping that someone reads this and gives you a chance because they sure won't be sorry. You're brother sends you lots of love!! Mike and Michi and Spanky and Lila" Alfalfa sends Mike, Michi, Lila and his brother Spanky many happy, grateful kisses.

Thanks for Visiting Our Animals!

Hearts United for Animals is a national no-kill shelter, sanctuary and animal welfare organization. Hearts United for Animals does long distance adoptions if there are safe flights and we have volunteers in the area to do a home visit. We require an application, references and a home visit to adopt one of our dogs. Our dogs are all spayed or neutered and are current on health care. We can cat test a dog if requested. If you are interested in adopting a dog, we can give you more information on each dog if you click the Adoption Info & Application link above. Buddies are people who support the dog and send them love while they are waiting for their new home. The dog does not live with the buddy.
