HOMEWARD BOUND - ADOPTED - now living happily in Papillion, NE!
This is the celebrity who appeared on the evening news many times. He somehow survived on his own in an Omaha neighborhood for several years. He managed to evade people who tried to help him. His big-boned stature was gaunt, and he was covered with the foulest clumps of fur imaginable. To make matters much worse, children covered part of his back and head with bright green paint. HUA representatives worked with the cooperation of neighborhood rescuers setting a large friendly trap for him, but he was too wise for that. Finally, he ventured onto a porch. When he knew he was surrounded by friends, he had no objection to being carried to the HUA van and transported to the shelter. His grooming took the better part of a day, especially for the parts of his body that had paint almost buried in his skin, but he was stoic for all of it and seemed very happy with his new self once it was finished. Lion King is a charmer. He stands back and makes friends slowly. He lives in a villa apartment with two medium-sized lady dogs, and he can be seen in their yard lying there while the girls play over the top of him. When he is brought to the Sunroom to be in the company of many people and lots of little dogs, he quietly observes, allows people to make over him, and never causes any dissension. He is a prize who needs a securely fenced yard and a family that will let him develop, not try to fit him into any mold but rather encourage all his good qualities to blossom, and appreciate him for the man that he is.
